Geotechnical Observations provide high quality field instrumentation programmes for all types of civil engineering projects. The company has worked on many high profile projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5, Wembley Stadium and the M25 at Godstone, as well as smaller projects such as the development of 60 Cheval Place in Knightsbridge. Geotechnical Observations canvoffer geotechnical knowledge and instrumentation know-how, which combine to enhance our client’s understanding of the projects being monitored.

Geotechnical Observations also specialises in the measurement of pore water pressures and suction, with particular reference to the stability of embankments and slopes. The company has developed a unique suite of equipment for measuring pore water pressures and suctions in the field and the laboratory. This equipment has been used throughout the world and is actively contributing to improving the geotechnical community’s understanding of pore water suction and its application to the behaviour of geotechnical structures.

Field Measurements We procure, install, read and report on a wide range of field instrumentation. inclinometers (manual and in-place) extensometers piezometers dataloggers surveys (manual and automated)
	Laboratory Testing In addition to routine testing (procured through a third party UKAS accredited laboratory) we undertake specialist testing of soils in our own labaoratory. These tests include:  suction measurements  Gmax using bender elements
