Slopes - M25 Godstone
Instrumentation (installation,
monitoring and reporting)
Status: Current
In late 2002 Geotechnical Observations
were commissioned to assist in the investigation of slope movements adjacent
to the M25 motorway in Surrey. In March 2003 we supervised the installation
of inclinometers and GeO piezometers.
GeO read and review the inclinometer
data at weekly intervals and report any unusual events to directly to
the maintaining agent. Datalogged pore water pressures are downloaded
every month and an interpretive report is written.
Significant movements have been
detected and are now being closely monitored using an in-place inclinometer
system that is linked via a GSM modem to our offices.
A Working Group with representatives
from the Highways Agency, Mouchel Parkman and Geotechnical Observations
meet at regular intervals to review the data.
