GeO Piezometers (installation, monitoring and reporting)
Status: Completed

In early 2001 Geotechnical Observations were commissioned by the Geotechnical Office of the Hong Kong Government to install ten GeO piezometers at shallow depths (1 - 3m) in a natural terrain slope on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The purpose of the piezometers was to investigate the change in pore water pressures (negative to positive) induced by heavy rainstorm events.

Installation and set up of the piezometers took four days in March 2001 and GeO returned to Hong Kong at two monthly intervals until December 2001. All data was captured, processed and presented to the client during each visit, with paper interpretive reports being forwarded within two weeks of the site visit.
